Take yourself home, to Seattle.
September 2020
Talk to me
There's nothing that can't be fixed with some honesty
Happiness is right there where you lost it when you took the bet
Counting all the losses that you can't collect
Get everything and nothing in life
I'm tired of the city
Scream if you're with me
If I'm gonna die
Let's die somewhere pretty
Sad in the summer
City needs a mother
If I'm gonna waste my time
Then it's time to go
Take yourself home, to Seattle.
I've wanted to make a video about Seattle for a long time—a very personal and deeply emotional one. Summer 2020 provided all the emotional ingredients for me to pour my heart into this short, two-minute piece.
That summer was strange. Not being able to travel almost threw me into an unexpected existential crisis. I lost my greatest weapon for dealing with emotional turbulence—traveling and letting go. With all the COVID restrictions, I had to stay home, stuck with my own thoughts all the time. It wasn’t easy. But this unexpected journey pushed me to explore Seattle & PNW more and reminded me how much I had taken this incredible city for granted.
Sometimes, the most beautiful things are right around the corner. We don’t need to go far to chase happiness.
Appreciate uncertainty. Appreciate life.
